If given a chance to establish, Guinea grass and goatweed can be the two most difficult weeds to manage. This is not just because they both are prolific seed producers, but also due to their inherent biological ability to survive grove conditions.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Guinea grass (Megathyrsus maximus) was originally introduced as a forage crop from Africa in the 16th century. It is listed as a Category II on the Florida Exotic Pest Plant Council\u2019s list of invasive species in 2017.
